National Party leader gunned down in Kachhi

DERA MURAD JAMALI: Unknown attackers gunned down a National Party leader in the Kachhi district on Monday, according to officials. Muhammad Akbar Baloch was travelling in his car when he was attacked at the Jalal Khan Road in Bhag area. He was returning from his village in Rehanzai. The ex-general secretary of National Party’s local chapter received multiple bullet injuries and succumbed to his wounds on the spot, a senior Levies official told . Levies officials said the cause of the killing was not known so far, adding that an old enmity could be a possible motive. Further investigation was in progress. Mr Baloch had recently joined the education department and was working as an assistant district education officer. The National Party’s provincial spokesperson has strongly condemned the attack and demanded the immediate arrest of the assailants. The spokesperson expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic assassination of Mr Baloch, “a dedicated and ideologically committed leader”. The party described his death as a significant setback for political activists across Balochistan.
