ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) on Saturday held an event to discuss Palestinians miseries and find a solution in the light of Allama Iqbal’s thoughts. Event titled “Palestine Issue: In the Context of Iqbal’s Thought” was held in connection with Iqbal Day. It was hosted by Abid Sial and chaired by Mr Ejaz Rahim while Dr Jameel Asghar Jami and Dr Shahid Iqbal Kamran were the chief guests. It was opened by Director General Sultan Nasir, who called for solidarity with Palestinians and shared recent academy initiatives on Palestinian issues. Ejaz Rahim emphasised Iqbal’s longstanding support for Palestine, the role of writers in societal change, and the need to confront the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Dr Kamran pointed out the lack of support from major countries of the world to the issue of Palestine. Dr Jami urged writers globally to denounce Palestinian oppression. The event concluded with gratitude to the attendees.
