KARACHI: The Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Mr. Abdul Wali Khan, has said he would knock every door from Khyber to Keamari and appeal to the people to stand up for “mitigating the sufferings” of their compatriots in Baluchistan. Addressing students of Karachi University yesterday [Oct 1,] he said he would not have bothered the people during Ramazan if the situation in that province had not demanded it. He said the country was engaged in a “life and death struggle” and it was the bounden duty of every Pakistani to discharge his obligations. … He asked the students to distinguish between the terms Government, State and the ruling party and said he was unwilling to obtain [a] certificate of patriotism from anyone. He said former President Yahya Khan had banned the NAP because it had refused to support military action in East Pakistan. Stating that the London Plan propaganda was now fully exposed, Mr Wali Khan wondered why the Plan’s so-called authors Mian Mumtaz Daultana and Mr Akbar Bugti were appointed envoy to U.K. and Governor of Baluchistan respectively. … He repeated his warning that the Government’s present policy vis-à-vis Baluchistan might prove disastrous.
