TAXILA:Angry protesters put traffic out of gear on Rawalpindi-Kohat Road on Wednesday to protest the broad daylight target killing of former union council Pind Sultani chairman Asif Nawaz. According to police and witnesses, two persons riding on motorcycles opened fire Asif Nawaz as he was coming out of his house on Wednesday. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The news about the killing of Mr Nawaz spread like jungle fire and people from different walks of life placed his body on Rawalpindi-Kohat Road and suspended traffic for hours. Local political leaders demanded early arrest of the killers. Later after successful negotiations between police, the protesters dispersed peacefully. Bassal police have registered a murder case and launched a hunt to trace the killers.
