The incident occurred near Super Bund of Langar Wahh when the police team on patrol was fired upon by the robbers. In the crossfire, one of the robbers, identified as Mukhtiar Ahmad, was injured by the firing of his own accomplices as police were attempting to recover arms and stolen animals.
