PAARL – Pakistan defeated South Africa by three wickets in the first ODI in Paarl. Pakistan chased down the target of 240 runs in the last over of the match for the loss of seven wickets. Opener Saim Ayub scored a brilliant century and Salman Agha performed with both bat and the ball. South Africa scored 239 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Heinrich Klaasen played an innings of 86 runs, which included 2 sixes and 7 fours. In addition, Ryan Rickelton made 36 runs, Aiden Markram scored 35, and Tony de Zorzi contributed 33 runs. Marco Jansen scored 10, and Van der Dussen made 8 runs before getting out. Tristan Stubbs and Andile Phehlukwayo could only score 1 run each. For Pakistan, Salman Ali Agha took 4 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed claimed 2. Shaheen Afridi and Saim Ayub each took 1 wicket.
