Cattle trader shot dead

GUJRAT: A cattle trader of Lahore was shot dead in firing by some unidentified armed men in Makwal village of Gulliana police precincts in Kharian tehsil. Reports said Tariq Masood of Lahore would use to do trading in Cattle Mandi Kharian and he mostly reside in Makwal village for three days in a week. However, some unidentified armed men opened firing at him when he was on his way back to Makwal village on a motorbike. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to Kharian Tehsil Headquarter hospital where doctors later conducted autopsy and handed over the body to the heirs. Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code on the report of Mukhtar Ahmed, the brother of the deceased, and started investigation. An 18-year-old youth was killed and his friend got injured when their motorbike hit a truck at Shaheen Chowk underneath a flyover along Gujrat GT road bypass on Saturday. Rescue 1122 official said Ali Hassan and Shawaiz of nearby Saroki village were going back to home from the city when their bike hit a truck since they tried to overtake the truck from wrong side as a result of which Ali Hassan was crushed by the truck and died on spot. Shawaiz (20) suffered a minor injury as Rescue 1122 staff provided him the first aid on the spot. The heirs of deceased boy took away the body to home.
