MARDAN: Adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif has said that provincial government is taking concrete steps to improve health sector. “Sehat Sahulat Card is the flagship project of our government, under which millions of patients have been treated at a cost of billions of rupees,” he said. He added that district headquarters hospital Mardan was providing medical facilities to the people of Mardan as well as adjoining districts. He was talking to officials of hospital and later to journalists during his visit to district headquarters hospital on Thursday. He was welcomed by the medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Javed Iqbal. He was informed that the district headquarters hospital had the status of a teaching hospital, which was providing the best medical facilities to people. It was said that vacancies for house jobs were approved in Mardan hospital, however, there was a budget problem and the issue was pending in finance department. Barrister Saif said that he himself was born in that hospital. Dr Javed Iqbal took him to the gynaecology section and told him that the labour room was still present at almost the same location with modern facilities.
