LAHORE: Bangladesh ended Sri Lanka’s unbeaten streak in the Blind Cricket World Cup with a commanding 25-run victory on the third day of the tournament at Bagh-e-Jinnah on Monday. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 167-4 in 20 overs, with Ashiqur Rahman top-scoring with 42 runs. Mohammad Salman contributed 36 runs to the total. In reply, Sri Lanka could only manage 142-7 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Chandana Deshapriya led the chase with 56 runs off 44 balls, while Dumith Sanduruwan added 21 runs. Mehdiul Islam was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, taking 3-18 in four overs. Arif Hussain supported with 2-26 in four overs. In another match at Ghani Institute Ground, Nepal triumphed over Afghanistan by 108 runs. Nepal posted an imposing total of 228-2, with Padam Badila remaining unbeaten on 92 and Naresh adding 72. Afghanistan’s response was limited to 120-9, with captain Abasin Sailab top-scoring with 53. Sunil Magar was the star performer with the ball for Nepal, taking 3-18.
