QUETTA: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Women Development Dr Rubaba Khan Buledi has emphasised the need to accelerate efforts and implement measures to ensure women’s rights and development, laying a solid foundation for a democratic and socially strong Balochistan. Speaking at a workshop held on Saturday, she stressed the importance of comprehensive and coordinated actions at the policy level to improve the status of women in the province. The workshop was organised jointly by the Women Development Department and the World Health Organisation (WHO). Dr Buledi said women’s full participation in social, economic and political sectors is crucial for Balochistan’s progress. “Gender equality is not merely a goal; it is the foundation of our development. Without providing women with their rights and opportunities, we cannot build a better social system,” she added. She underscored the importance of promoting gender-sensitive governance and development across all sectors to ensure women’s voices are heard and their needs are addressed at every level. Dr Buledi also commended the collaboration between the Women Development Department of Balochistan and the WHO, noting that workshops and forums like these play a pivotal role in advancing gender equality and establishing a strong foundation for the development of women in the province.
