Ahmed, Bilal claim doubles title

ISLAMABAD: Paki­stan’s Ahmed Nael Qureshi and Bilal Asim defeated compatriots Haider Ali Rizwan and Abubakar Talha in the boys’ doubles final of the ITF Pakistan J30 Ali Embroidery World Junior Tennis Champi­onship here at the PTF Complex on Saturday. Ahmed and Bilal comfortably won the decider 6-3, 6-3. Meanwhile, Sion Ji of Korea defeated China’s Xiuyuan Guo 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 in the boys’ singles final. Sri Lanka’s Dinara De Silva defeated Karolina Ligai of Kazakhstan 6-3, 6-4 in the girls singles final. The qualifying round of the ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Champ­ionship started on Saturday while the main round commences on Monday.
